Dawes Spire 2.0 Low Step - Electric Bike - 250W Matt Grey
Product Description
The all-new Dawes Spire 2.0 Low Step electric bike is a versatile hybrid; perfectly suited for the daily commute, popping to the shops or a weekend of riding your local country park and canal towpaths. When compared to the Dawes Spire 1.0, this bike features upgraded 1x9 Shimano Alivio gearing, a larger 540wh battery and a sleek centre mounted handlebar display.
The low step frame is equipped with a neatly integrated 540wh battery that can deliver over 60 miles / 97km of assisted pedalling. The power is delivered from within the Bafang rear hub motor, a brand who is quickly establishing themselves as one of the leading bicycle motor brands with excellent build quality, performance, and value for money.
With 32nm of torque, the Spire 2.0 delivers plenty of power to keep the wheels turning up dragging hills and make flat terrain a breeze. The battery uses high quality cells from Samsung, another leading brand in the electric bike industry and all pass the most stringent safety and performance tests required by UK and EU law for peace of mind. The battery can be charged on or off the bike, with a complete charge from flat within 6 hours and is easily removed without tools for added convenience. An integrated battery lock ensures peace of mind when left in public.
The stylish centre-mounted display makes monitoring your ride information super-easy and you can cycle through the different functions using the side-mounted remote. This intuitive computer system offers 5 power assist modes and, current speed, average speed, max speed, trip distance and trip time. To make things easy when off the bike, we’ve fitted a walk assist mode that engages the motor to help drive the bike when pushing up steep hills.
We’ve equipped the Spire 2.0 with dependable 1x9 speed Shimano Alivio/Altus gearing and powerful, low maintenance Tektro hydraulic disc brakes to help keep you in control when navigating the city traffic or local cycle path. A 70mm travel suspension fork with hydraulic lockout takes care of bumps and uneven terrain while the adjustable stem ensure you can tailor the height of the handlebars so that you are as comfortable as possible.
For rider contact points you’ll find a comfortable Selle Royal Freeway saddle, ergonomically shaped grips and alloy city pedals. The 700x45c Kenda tyres are grippy and fast rolling with added puncture protection to help keep flat tyres at bay while the reflective detailing increases visibility in low light and nighttime settings.
Lastly, the Spire 2.0 comes as standard with bright front and rear LED lights that are powered directly by the battery, a rear pannier rack for transporting luggage, mudguards to avoid tyre spray and a handy kickstand for parking your bike.

Direct Delivery; available to Mainland UK addresses only. Estimated delivery time 2-5 working days. We will dispatch orders received by midday that same day and our chosen courier will deliver direct to your door. You will need to be in to sign for the delivery and bikes will be delivered boxed, 85% assembled. Final assembly should be conducted by someone competent with the basic mechanics of a bicycle, if you require the help of your local bike shop please be aware the service will be chargeable
Direct Delivery Electric Bikes; electric bikes are delivered 'built and ready to ride'. This means one of our trained, expert mechanics has fully assembled your bike in our workshop, applied protective packaging and re-boxed it for our courier to deliver it to you. After delivery you only need to make minor adjustments.
On arrival please complete the following:
Remove the electric bike and any documentation/spare parts boxes from the outer carton and take off any protective packaging.
With the bike on the ground or in a work stand, loosen the bolts on the handlebar stem where it meets the fork, line the handlebars up to the front wheel and re-tighten.
In some cases you may also need to adjust the handlebar angle. To do this please loosen the bolts on the front of the handlebar stem where it meets the handlebars and rotate the bars until it is in a comfortable position, then re-tighten bolts.
Your left pedal will already be fitted, so take the unfitted pedal and screw it clockwise into the threaded hole on your crank arm. We trial fit these prior to dispatch to ensure there is no cross-threading, so please take extra care when fitting.
Adjust your saddle height if necessary by loosening the seat clamp and adjusting it to a suitable height. We recommend that your knee is slightly bent at the bottom of each pedal stroke whilst sat comfortably.
Double check that every bolt you have adjusted is tight.
We recommend charging your ebike to full capacity before you ride it to help the long-term health of your battery. To see if there is sufficient level of charge please check the handlebar display.
Please note - we complete the same pre-departure assembly on folding electric bikes, but dispatch them folded in their original box.
